Serbia and Croatia have signed the bilateral Agreement on navigation and inland waterways, on October 13th , 2009, in Belgrade. Agreement was signed by Mr. Milutin Mrkonjic, Serbian Minister of Infrastructure, and Mr. Bozidar Kalmeta, Croatian Minister of Sea, Trade and Infrastructure.

Experts for inland navigation from both countries, representatives of Agency for Inland Waterways (Croatia) and Directorate for Inland Waterways Plovput (Serbia) agreed that 100 Million Euro (50 Million Euro by country) is needed for establishing navigational conditions from the agreement.

Serbia and Croatia have a joined section on the Pan-European Corridor VII (the Danube River) in the length of 138 km. Also, both countries are members of the International Commission for the Sava River (along with Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina), which objective is the improvement of conditions for navigation on this international inland waterway.
